TÜBİTAK BUTAL participated in the 9th Science Expo Science Festival organized by Bursa Science and Technology Center between 9-12 June 2022 at TÜYAP Bursa International Fair and Congress Center with the workshops of its laboratories and met with students aged 7-18.

Textile Workshop:
In order to provide examples with test studies on the cross-sectional image of fibers in the field of textiles, stitch fatigue in auto upholstery fabrics and thickness reduction under dynamic load in carpet samples; Laboratory-based experimental activities were carried out with students between the ages of 7-18 under the supervision of laboratory personnel working in the workshop established by BUTAL Material Textile Laboratory with the theme of "Textile".
Elephant Toothpaste Experiment Workshop:
To explain the decomposition reaction of hydrogen peroxide, which is an unstable chemical substance, into water and oxygen in a very short time with a catalyst and to provide a visually entertaining understanding of the application. In order to ensure that the participants have knowledge about the terms and concepts related to the chemical reaction, the properties of the chemical materials used during the activity to be carried out, to express this decomposition reaction visually with the help of liquid detergent that provides intense foam formation during the release of oxygen during the application, and to gain knowledge about catalyst, exothermic reaction and chemical concepts; In the workshop established by BUTAL Chemistry Environmental Laboratory with the theme of "Elephant Toothpaste Experiment", experiments were shown to students aged 10-14 under the supervision of laboratory staff.
Soil Science Workshop:
In the workshop established by BUTAL Food and Agricultural Chemistry Laboratory with the theme of "Soil Science"; laboratory-based experiments were shown to students aged 10-15 under the supervision of the laboratory staff in order to make the participants love the laboratory environment by experimenting, to encourage them to scientific studies and to raise awareness about the importance of soil in life by planting medicinal aromatic saplings in pots with pH analyzed soil samples.
