Within the scope of TÜBİTAK BUTAL planned training activities; a training on "Applied EDXRF Analysis Technique" was held on November 22-23, 2018 for private sector participants in order to increase the knowledge and experience of operators who are currently using EDXRF spectrometers, to solve the problems encountered in the analysis, and to ensure that the performance of the spectrometer is maximum and stable.

First day of training; Fundamentals and historical development of XRF, XRF spectroscopy, XRF spectrometers, EDXRF spectrum, matrix concept, basic parameters method, experimental calibration, interference effects, qualitative and quantitative analysis, instrument calibration and maintenance.

On the second day of the training, theoretical and practical information was given on sample preparation techniques, liquid samples, powder samples, pressed tablet samples, glass tablet (Melt) samples, data evaluation at the BUTAL EDXRF device, and the training was completed with general evaluations and ended with the presentation of the "Certificate of Participation" to the participants by Sedat AKTAŞ, Director of TÜBİTAK BUTAL.
