Azo Dye (Arylamine) and Chlorine Dioxide Analyzes Have Begun to Be Performed in TÜBİTAK BUTAL Chemistry-Environment Laboratory

Two new analyses have been introduced in TÜBİTAK BUTAL Chemistry-Environment Laboratory.

1) Azo Dyestuff (Arylamine) Analysis

Azo dyes, which can be analyzed in TÜBİTAK BUTAL Chemistry-Environment Laboratory, consist of N=N- Azo group. Azo dyestuffs ensure that the dye used in textiles fits perfectly to the product and contain many arylamine substances, 24 of which are carcinogenic. Therefore, it has been decided by the European Union to classify these substances as "prohibited chemicals" if they are used above a certain limit. Use above limits can cause allergic reactions in the body and cancer in different organs.

2) Chlorine Dioxide Analysis

Chlorine dioxide analysis of chemicals used for the treatment of water for human consumption can be performed at TÜBİTAK BUTAL Chemistry-Environment Laboratory with EN 12671 method.
