International Education at TÜBİTAK BUTAL

With the cooperation and support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), TÜBİTAK BUTAL organized an international training on "Cleaner Production Technologies in the Leather Industry" on 03-16 October 2019.

A total of 23 trainees from Bangladesh, Algeria, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ethiopia, Palestine, Kenya, Kenya, Mali, Mongolia, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania and Tunisia participated in the training organized with the aim of increasing the manpower productivity of developing countries and improving the knowledge and professional experience of the participants by introducing innovative studies in the field of clean production technologies especially in the leather industry.

Within the scope of the program, in addition to the theoretical subjects covered, the 62nd AYMOD International Footwear Fashion Fair at Istanbul CNR Expo Center was visited. In addition, technical inspection trips were organized to leather factories and waste water treatment plants in Izmir Free Zone (İZBAŞ), Torbalı, Menemen and Bursa Specialized Leather Organized Industrial Zones.

The trainees also participated in the "5th International Leather Engineering Congress" organized by Ege University Leather Engineering Department in Izmir on October 10-12, 2019 and learned about sustainable innovative technologies in the fields of clean production and waste management in leather enterprises.

Within the scope of the training, a technical inspection trip was organized to TÜBİTAK BUTAL Laboratories and information was also provided on the tests and analyzes carried out in the laboratories.

In the speeches made at the closing and certificate ceremony held with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TIKA and UNIDO, it was emphasized that such international trainings create positive effects in terms of commercial and economic cooperation between countries.
